And Champ is just one of the extraordinary Pederson siblings: Joc Pederson plays center field for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Tyger Pederson plays for the Dodgers’ Rookie team and Jacey Pederson was a standout soccer player at Paly who is now playing for UCLA. The athletic genes are not hard to trace: Stu Pederson played professional baseball for many years before he returning to his hometown to raise his family in Palo Alto.
